I have been looking forward to getting my hands on the iPhone SDK because I had a dream. A dream where the name of every song I played on my iPhone would be uploaded to Last.fm as I played it, without having to connect it to my Mac. (I know, I know. This is a really dorky dream.) Well, it turns out that I don’t have to wait for the SDK after all because some enterprising developer has already gone and done it.
Enter MobileScrobbler. Not only does it upload the song data you play as you listen to them, but it implements streaming audio from Last.fm, just like the native desktop client.
Screenshots can be found over here, as the development site appears to be down at the time of this writing.
I think I’ve finally found a reason to jailbreak my iPhone.
