Stealing music now includes making a copy for yourself.

UPDATE: Ars Technica wrote about the RIAA’s efforts to make fair use history over a year ago. My favorite bit in this article is that one shouldn’t be allowed to back up your music because “...replacements are readily available at affordable prices.”

I’ve said it before: the RIAA will not be happy until they can monetize every time you think of a song you’ve heard in the past.
