Why PCs Really Suck

For years, I wanted to succinctly say what Steven Frank says in his post about why Macs Really Do Run Windows Better than PCs. It mostly boils down to the fact that PC manufacturers cannot resist shipping shovelware with their systems, and then patting themselves on the back about what a tremendous value add it is for the customer to have a 60 day free trial of McAfee, or what have you. If you want a pristine install of Windows, better have some CDs, an afternoon, a fast network connection (for 1,000,000 post-release software updates) and the patience of a saint to download drivers for hardware that that crap PC vendor is using that didn’t exist in 2003 when Windows XP was released. This is not even taking Vista into account, which is, by all accounts, a total loss.

As Laurie Anderson said: “I could go on and on and on. But tonight… I have a headache.”
